Another win once again for Chelsea against Tottenham as Hakim Ziyech and Thiago Silva scored to give the Blues a 2-0 victory at Stamford Bridge, MySportPlug reporting.
It was a game which Spurs went in knowing they needed a win after losing three times against the Champions of Europe this season that wasn’t a good look knowing how they have been struggling this campaign seeing them drop from number one to three and trailing 13 points behind Manchester City.
This encounter could have easily gone either way, but Thomas Tuchel had other plans as his player executed things according to how they planned heading into this match which wasn’t looking like one they could get anything after playing so many games which puts them in a tight corner since December.
CHELSEA VS TOTTENHAM FULL MATCH REPORT
The first half was a keenly contested one for both London clubs who shown too much quality, but unfortunately it wasn’t good enough to report any goal scored from either teams after 45 minutes of football played at Stamford Bridge.
Tottenham came into this game knowing it’s their last opportunity of getting one over the Blues who have already beat them three time this season with two coming in the EFL Carabao Cup semi-final which they eventually crashed on a 3-0 aggregate after losing both legs including a Premier League defeat.
Chelsea started as the better side which saw them pressing all through against their opponent who had no problem defending as the match carried on with so much coming but nothing changed the scoreline which was on 0-0 with them hitting the 30 minutes mark going forward.
Nothing to separate them despite everything put in by both teams which saw them getting yellow cards as the encounter was getting more intense between the two London clubs who saw more of their opportunities being dealt with easily by the defenders and goalkeepers.
They ended the first half with a 0-0 scoreline after so much work which saw them coming in for the second 45 minutes with so much power and pace going forward as they eye a goal that wasn’t coming as they continued created more opportunities going forward.
Chelsea finally broke the deadlock in the 47th minute of the second half after Hakim Ziyech cuts in and smashed a curler which beats the goalkeeper and made the scoreline 1-0 with assistance coming from Callum Hudson Odoi who is responsible for making way before the goal.
The Blues didn’t waste time in adding another goal in the 55th minute as Mason Mount delivery was met by Brazilian defender Thiago Silva who executed it neatly making things turned 2-0 after a brilliant one coming from him against Tottenham as it progressed.
Spurs continued with so much urgency in them, but that didn’t stop what was coming as they had so go back on many occasions to make sure they did not concede another goal immediately after falling twice as they were all over the place unable to hold play for them to create any chances of scoring anything back.
Nothing changed after the final whistle as the encounter ended with Chelsea taking a clean 2-0 victory against Tottenham as they remain unbeaten playing Spurs four times this season which also gives them three points on the Premier League table where they still remain 3rd with 10-points behind Manchester City.
