Goals coming from Kai Havertz or Christian Pulisic saw Chelsea claim a 2-0 win against Lille in the Uefa Champions League first leg encounter, MySportPlug reporting.
The match was entertaining as both teams did well to give a good account of themselves going forward which saw so many opportunities being created all through the 90 minutes of football being played at Stamford Bridge that was the first leg of a two-legged encounter.
Chelsea already has one leg into the next round of the UEFA Champions League after this win at home which will see them travel to France to get the job done with a chance of fully advancing through as they look to once again fight for the title they won last season beating Manchester City in the final.

The encounter kicked off with both teams pushing forward on an equal balance affair which saw some early opportunities being created going forward as they pushed with urgency and pace in an attempt to make something happen early.

Things carried on with some impressive skills being shown by Christian Pulisic who had moments for himself showing so much quality beating attackers and making passes which weren’t working out as their opponents were all over the place making sure nothing gets past them as it carried on further.
The first half ended with Chelsea taking that narrow 1-0 advantage into the break against Lille who did well enough to make sure they didn’t concede more than the only finish from Kai Havertz after an incredible 45 minutes of football at Stamford Bridge.
Good pick up from play in the second half which proved to be the same just like the first 45 minutes of the encounter providing just one goal to talk about between both teams who create numerous amount of opportunities going forward.
It was still looking good for Chelsea who maintained their dominance looking to make another goal happen, but it wasn’t meant to be as the struggle to break down the French team continued to look more difficult while they pushed on forward in attacking of play.
Lille held their ground well but couldn’t carry on as Christian Pulisic netted the second goal of the game after a good run from NGolo Kante saw him setting up the American who finished off neatly making the scoreline 2-0 in the 63rd minute of hostility at Stamford Bridge.
Things continued until it came to a close with Chelsea claiming an amazing first leg 2-0 victory against Lille with the return clash going down in France soon before a winner will be decided between them both, and the side will advance into the next round giving them the chance of winning the title.
