FT: Chelsea 1-1 Brighton (English Premier League) 2021-22 | HIGHLIGHTS

Chelsea were unable to record a win once again as Danny Welbeck late goal saw Romelu Lukaku first half goal cancelled it the game ended 1-1 against Brighton And Hove Albion, MySportPlug reporting.

It could have been a different outcome after 90 minutes as more opportunities came from both teams but they couldn’t make it count as that would have impacted how things played out at the end of it all.

It wasn’t an easy game as both sides did well enough for themselves despite how the result looked between them after 90 minutes that was played at Stamford Bridge which saw Romelu Lukaku making it 2 goals in two matches.


Coming into this encounter for both teams who won their last match as they started the first half very well as expected pushing hard against each other with hopes of taking the lead.

Brighton And Hove Albion were the side in control of ball possession which saw them creating some few opportunities which was easily dealt with by their opponent who were solid at the back.

It was another problem for Chelsea who saw Reece James being substituted after a tackle from Tariq Lamptey which saw him getting injured and the manager had no choice than to take him off the game for Marcos Alonso.

Romelu Lukaku scored in the 28th minute of the encounter the give the Blues the lead after running through defenders to head in Mason Mount corner kick which saw the scoreline turned 1-0 as it carried on.

Still the same issue for Andreas Christensen who was pulled out due to another injury which saw Trevoh Chalobah taking his place on the pitch as the encounter progressed further.

The first half came to an end with Chelsea heading into the break taking a narrow advantage 1-0 against Brighton And Hove Albion who were unlucky of getting something for themselves despite their dominance.

It was looking good in the early stages of the second half which saw Thomas Tuchel already passing out information to his players as they kept things calm to ensure their lead remain intact as they carry on with the encounter.

Chelsea continues to hold onto their lead despite receiving pressure from their opponent as they looked a bit not well organized after being forced into making double changes they weren’t looking to do so early in the match during the first half.

Attempts after attempts saw Brighton And Hove Albion pushing with the ball possession favoring them, but scoring was their only problem as they couldn’t find a way to break their opponent defense despite forcing them to make changes.

The yellow cards keeps flying in for the Blues who were all over the place making sure they don’t concede anything with the advantage on their side as they approached the 70th minute mark as things looked the same 1-0 going forward.

Danny Welbeck came hurting the Blues as he scored in the 90th minute plus additional time which saw the away side pegging back into the encounter 1-1 as it carried on with things looking done.

The match came to an end with Brighton And Hove Albion coming late in the encounter to hold Chelsea to a 1-1 draw after 90 minutes which saw them dropping another two points which could have gone other way.
