FT: AC Milan 3-1 Genoa, Olivier Giroud GOAL! | HIGHLIGHTS

Former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud scored once again for AC Milan in their Coppa Italia match against Genoa at home which saw them playing 3-1, MySportPlug Reporting.

The World Cup winner was instrumental all through the encounter which entered extra time after his goal helped his side to drag the match beyond 90 minutes thanks to the equalizer that had so much to do with how it ended.

The game saw the former Chelsea man start evenly balanced as both teams pushed forward with a burst of energy as they wanted to open off good with a goal that could make a huge impact which didn’t happen at once.

Leo Oestigard set the ball rolling in the 17th minute of the first half giving Genoa the lead after an amazing teamwork effort which saw Portanova setting off the assist that was beautifully converted to make the scoreline 0-1 as it moved on.

AC Milan pushed back as the first half progressed further which saw them knocking on the defense of their opponent, but nothing solid was happening for them despite everything they threw forward with attempts of getting the equalizer.

The first half ended with AC Milan unable to get the equalizer they needed so badly that they came in the second half against Genoa as the better between both teams who gave a good account of themselves under the 45 minutes played.

AC Milan Vs Genoa carried on the second half with so many goalscoring opportunities from both ends which saw them coming close but in the end, nothing happened after all the good buildup from play which either the defenders clear or the strike goes off.

Olivier Giroud scored the leveler in the 74th minute which was as a result of Theo Hernandez’s delivery which the former Chelsea striker finished off perfectly with a stunning header to make the scoreline 1-1 as they carried on in the Cup tie.

They ended the second half of the encounter with the scoreline staying at 1-1 between AC Milan Vs Genoa which saw them both heading for the extra time that was where the whole Coppa Italia tie turned around for the home side.

More opportunities being created as they kickoff the extra time with AC Milan taking the lead in the 102nd minutes after Rafael Leao smashed one beating the goalkeeper with assistance coming from Brahim Diaz which turned the encounter 2-1 in favor of home team.

Another goal was scored in the 112th minutes by Alexis Saelemaekers which killed things off as Genoa were unable to make a comeback leaving them no way past a 3-1 scoreline as they approached the final phase of what left to be played.

The match which finally came to an end saw AC Milan moving into the next round of the Coppa Italia after smashing Genoa 3-1 to book their qualification after a good fought 120 minutes of football played between both clubs.
